The 1-star Training Sword is the first real weapon you'll be using in Wuthering Waves. As the main protagonist, Rover, you'll begin your journey as a Sword-wielder, and this weapon is the only eligible one you can use as a new player before reaching certain story progressions and level-ups.
The Training Sword is a straightforward weapon; it increases your Attack as much as possible, up to a certain point. It's essentially the weaker version of the Tyro Sword in every aspect.
While there isn't much else to consider about the Sword, you can actually go pretty far into the story by leveling the Training Sword to its full potential. Still, many players probably wouldn't do so, but it's still worth mentioning.

Tuning the Training Sword improves the Attack stat further, up to a maximum of 8% at its 5-star rank. Combining this with the Sword's base Attack stats, you'll see a good boost to your Resonator's outgoing damage to foes.
The Training Sword's benefits are still outmatched by others in the game, so you'll likely opt for an alternative that's better than the 2-star Tyro Sword, once you've unlocked Convene.
How To Get Training Sword
Inventory
In Wuthering Waves, the Training Sword is a free 1-star weapon added to your inventory right from the start.
This sword is designed specifically for training and teaching, only offering basic features. You can use Training Sword duplicates or other surplus items/weapons to upgrade it.
Overworld
There's a high chance of acquiring the Training Sword by unlocking various Supply Chests scattered around the Overworld. This applies to all Training-type and Tyro-type weapons too.
Best Resonators For Training Sword
As a beginner's weapon, the Training Sword can be used by every Sword-wielding Resonator:

There's no special mechanics to its play, though, and its base stats can only get you so far into the early game. As such, the Training Sword is mainly a temporary weapon for newcomers to Wuthering Waves.
