For the best Wuthering Waves players, survivability isn't a problem. Veteran ARPG or hack-and-slash gamers can easily adapt to the game's Dodging and Dashing system. However, not everyone is like that. Beginners can expect a lot of incoming hits, and that's where the Originite: Type IV fits in.
As a 3-star pair of Gauntlets, the Originite: Type IV rewards your Basic Attacks with small HP heals. The developers did a great job at balancing the self-heals by keeping the HP-restoring values extremely small. So, while the Originite: Type IV can help your Resonator survive another fatal hit (after restoring some HP for a few seconds, of course), their HP will still be at dangerous levels unless properly restored via items.
This is also true after you review the weapon's passive effect changes at each rank. You'll likely change to another more powerful pair of Gauntlets to for mid and end-game content.
