On Wuthering Waves‘s release, many Resonators fall into the swordmaster category, including Rover (protagonist). That being said, every character's kit is vastly different from each other, resulting in some Swords being more effective on certain individuals than others.
Fortunately, the Guardian Sword jives with everyone (Sword-wielding Resonators), thanks to its most important effect: a straight-up damage increase for Resonance Skills (Ultimates).
Although this alone isn't enough to warrant the Guardian Sword's place in the end-game, the Ultimate Damage boost does help a lot for grinding in-game content up to the mid-game.

The primary way to obtain weapons in Wuthering Waves is through Convene (the gacha system), which is also the sole method for obtaining the highest-rarity weapons in the game.
