Govee is celebrating its ninth birthday with a Fan Festival sale, and the timing works out well for anyone who hasn't hung their holiday lights yet. Its Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro are $160 off at $599.99, and the rest of the range has discounts of up to 40%. If you spend $199.99 or more, Govee adds a free Neon Rope Light 2 to your order.
The sale runs until November 13. Govee's Black Friday event follows on November 19, so this isn't your last chance at a discount, but it is your last chance at the free gift.
Outdoor lights: get them up before the ladder gets icy
The outdoor range is where the biggest savings are. Govee's permanent lights mount along your roofline and stay up all year, so you never have to untangle a string of bulbs again, which matters more in November than in any other month.
- Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro: $639.99 (was $799.99) Govee
- Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro: $599.99 (was $759.99) Govee
- Govee Outdoor Lamp Post Lights: $159.99 (was $249.99) Govee
- Govee Outdoor String Lights 2: $129.99 (was $189.99) Govee
- Govee Outdoor Projector Light: $99.99 (was $149.99) Govee
- Govee Outdoor Garden Lights: $89.99 (was $159.99) Govee
- Govee Christmas String Lights 2: $84.99 (was $99.99) Govee
The Garden Lights have the deepest cut here at 44% off, which is the closest anything gets to Govee's headline claim. If you're still deciding what kind of outdoor setup you want, our outdoor lighting guide covers the basics.
Indoor lamps, strips and ceiling lights
Indoors, the discounts are smaller but easier to justify. At $69.99, the RGBICW Floor Lamp Basic is the cheapest way to add a color-changing corner to a room, and the recessed lights are $80 off if you'd rather build the lighting into the ceiling.
- Govee 6-Inch Smart RGBWW Recessed Lights: $119.99 (was $199.99) Govee
- Govee Galaxy Light Projector 2 Pro: $149.99 (was $179.99) Govee
- Govee Strip Light 2 Pro: $112.99 (was $149.99) Govee
- Govee 15-Inch RGBICWW Smart Ceiling Light Pro: $109.99 (was $129.99) Govee
- Govee RGBICW Smart Floor Lamp Basic: $69.99 (was $99.99) Govee
- Govee Table Lamp 2: $63.99 (was $79.99) Govee
For a look at where Govee's ceiling lights are heading, we covered its AI-powered lineup from IFA in September. None of those models are in this sale, but they show what the current ones are building toward.
TV backlights for movie nights
TV backlights are the easiest Govee upgrade to recommend. They stick to the back of your set and make the picture feel bigger than it is, and the light bars are the cheapest entry point at $49.99, though they're sized for 45- to 70-inch TVs, so check yours first.
- Govee TV Backlight 3: $93.99 (was $109.99) Govee
- Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite: $69.99 (was $89.99) Govee
- Govee RGBWIC TV Light Bars (45-70 inch): $49.99 (was $69.99) Govee
GoveeLife smart home gear
Govee's appliance brand is also in the sale, and two deals stand out. The Bluetooth meat thermometer is 40% off at $59.99, the largest percentage cut in the whole event, while the Smart Humidifier Max is $60 off just as the heating comes on and the air dries out.
- GoveeLife Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro: $499.99 (was $523.97) Govee
- GoveeLife Smart Air Purifier 2 Pro: $89.99 (was $129.99) Govee
- GoveeLife Smart Humidifier Max: $79.99 (was $139.98) Govee
- GoveeLife Bluetooth Wireless Meat Thermometer: $59.99 (was $99.99) Govee
- GoveeLife Water Leak Detector 1s: $43.99 (was $54.99) Govee
The ice maker's $24 saving barely counts as a deal. Skip it unless you were already planning to buy one.
Free gifts, mystery boxes and other regions
The free gift is what makes the Fan Festival worth buying from now. In the US, spending $199.99 or more automatically adds a Neon Rope Light 2, which Govee values at $69.99, though returning your order for a non-quality reason means sending the gift back too.
Govee is also selling Mystery Boxes, which unlock at $69.99 and could contain products worth up to $149.99. They're sold at full price, can't be combined with discount codes and can't be returned unless something's faulty, so treat them as a gamble rather than a deal.
The sale runs in Canada, the UK and Europe as well. Each region has its own spending threshold and free gift:
- Canada: spend CA$299 and get a free Gaming Pixel Light
- UK: spend £299 (~$388) and get a free Floor Lamp 3 Lite
- Europe: spend €299 (~$344) and get a free Floor Lamp 3 Lite
Black Friday is next
Govee has confirmed its Black Friday plans. Early-bird pricing on select products starts November 9, and the main event runs from November 19 to 30 with savings of up to 53%, according to Govee, so prices may drop further if you can wait, but the free gift won't carry over.
We covered Govee's Prime Big Deal Days discounts last month. If you missed those, this sale is a second chance before Black Friday.
The verdict
The Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro at $599.99 is the deal to grab if you want holiday lights up this year without spending a weekend on a ladder every December. On a tighter budget, the Floor Lamp Basic and TV Backlight 3 Lite are both $69.99 and easy to set up, but skip the ice maker and the Mystery Boxes, since neither offers real savings.
Remember that the free Neon Rope Light 2 only applies to orders of $199.99 or more placed by November 13. With up to 53% off promised for Black Friday, it'll be worth seeing whether Govee's November prices get beaten, but a free rope light on top of $160 off is a solid start.
