How to Get and Farm Shell Credits Fast in Wuthering Waves
Clear Quests
Clearing Quests is a must-do (especially for beginners) not only because of the sheer amount of Shell Credits you can get from them but also because of other valuable rewards, such as Union EXP.
Aim to clear Main Story Quests first, then once you hit a Union Level restriction that locks you out of the main story, proceed in clearing these other Quests, all of which give you Shell Credits:
- Side Quests
- Tutorial Quests
- Exploration Quests
- Companion Stories
- Daily Quests
Defeat Tacet Discords
Defeating enemies out on the world map not only gives you a chance to absorb their Echoes, but also farm Shell Credits from them.
All enemies drop Shell Credits when slain, and that includes Special Enemies, Phantom Enemies, and World Bosses.
If you see a mob of enemies with a Tidal Heritage (as shown above) near them, then don't hesitate to clear them out for even more rewards!
Check Your Guidebook
The following features included in your Guidebook give you Shell Credits as rewards:
- Daily Activity
- Milestones
- Path of Growth
- Forgery Challenge
Your Daily Activity, in particular, is one of the most consistent sources of Shell Credits in the game. You can earn 20,000 Credits from your Daily Activity per day, so don't forget to do them!
Investigate Everything
If you like exploring the world, then don't forget to Investigate objects while running around the map and visiting new locations.
As you can see from the images above, you can farm Shell Credits as well as other useful items when Investigating objects (particularly those that glint), and there are tons of them scattered all over the world map.
TIP: You can find most of these objects hidden on furniture inside buildings, so keep your eyes peeled for those small, glinting prompts while exploring them!
Claim Pioneer Podcast Rewards
The Pioneer Podcast is Wuthering Waves' version of a Battle Pass, and it allows you to get several valuables and resources like Astrite, Lustrous Tides, Resonator or Echo EXP materials, and, of course, Shell Credits.
Make it a part of your daily routine to complete your Morning Routines (i.e. daily missions) in the Pioneer Podcast so you can farm Shell Credits (loads of them) from it.
Solve Puzzles & Open Chests
Solving puzzles and opening chests allows you to effectively farm Shell Credits over time the more of them you unlock, not to mention doing them also gives you Astrite and Union EXP.
TIP: You can get an item called Lootmapper by achieving Lv.1 Pioneer and talking to the Pioneer Association NPC (Maqi) in Jinzhou. It makes your chest-looting experience much better by marking down treasures you've already claimed on your map, so don't forget to get it ASAP!
Deliver Sonance Caskets
Delivering Sonance Caskets to the Relic Merchant (Chenpi) in Jinzhou also gives you Shell Credits, aside from other precious Resonator or Echo development materials and valuables.
This is where you also get two of Rover's Waistbands which are required for his/her ascensions, so that's another reason why you should be collecting every single Sonance Casket you find!
Grind Events & Check Your Mail
Depending on the current in-game events and the devs' generosity when it comes to milestone rewards or compensations, you can farm Shell Credits fast just by either participating in events or claiming items from your mail.
As you can see from the images above, you can earn quite a generous amount of Shell Credits just from these sources, so we recommend always checking your Events page and your mail!
Spend Your Waveplates on Shell Credit Simulation Training
You can farm tons of Shell Credits by clearing Shell Credit Simulation Training in Jinzhou. Once you unlock this game mode, you'll be able to Fast Travel to it anytime you want.
The Shell Credit Simulation Training will cost you 40 Waveplates before you can claim all the rewards you can get from it.
TIP: Don't spend too much Waveplate on Shell Credit Simulation Training runs! Clearing them once in a while is fine, but we still recommend investing most of your Waveplates on Boss Challenge, Forgery Training, Resonance Potion Simulation Training, and Energy Core Simulation Training, as they give away items that are harder to get than Shell Credits.
Visit the Item Exchange
You can buy 3,000 Shell Credits with 6 Oscillate Corals in the Oscillated Coral Item Exchange in your Store.
We don't recommend doing this, however, as there are just much better items in this shop, like the discounted Forging Tides, Lustrous Tides, and Radiant Tides, for example.
What Are Shell Credits?
Shell Credits are required for all forms of Resonator and Echo upgrades, which makes it a very valuable item to have.
Not only that, but you can trade with other NPCs using Shell Credits, which is essential if you want to get cooking recipes, ascension materials for your Resonators, as well as consumables that can restore your Resonators' health and give them buffs during or outside of battle.
