The first details of Google’s Pixel 12 series are finally here, two months after the Pixel 11 launched. Leaks point to four phones arriving in August 2027 and include codenames and model numbers. The display resolutions also hint that the Pixel 12 Pro Fold will retain its familiar design. Here’s everything we know so far.
Google has gone bananas with the codenames
Leaks of the Pixel 12 series have come out in pieces since June 2025, before the Pixel 10 had even launched. Telegram leaker MysticLeaks shared the internal codenames for all four phones.
The Pixel 12 is nicknamed Galago, the name of a small primate commonly called a bush baby. The Pixel 12 Pro is Sasquatch, the Pixel 12 Pro XL is Silverback, and the Pixel 12 Pro Fold is Capuchin, a type of monkey.

It’s not uncommon for Google to give each Pixel generation an animal theme. The Pixel 10 used horse breeds, like Mustang for the Pro XL and Blazer for the Pro, and the Pixel 11 used bears. The Pixel 12 moves to primates, with Sasquatch as the outlier.
MysticLeaks later reported that a chip called Tensor G7, nicknamed “Lajolla,” will power the new series. However, Google hasn’t confirmed it. A more recent leak comes from Android news and rumors site OVR+, which found the details in the GSMA database, a global registry phone makers use to list devices before launch.
The model numbers for the four phones are GC0QU, GWU59, G7U1Y, and G4D5D respectively. The listings don’t mention codenames, so we can’t be sure which number belongs to which phone. The same listings include display resolutions. The Pixel 12 has 1,080 x 2,400, the 12 Pro uses 1,280 x 2,824, and the 12 Pro XL uses 1,344 x 2,952. These closely resemble current Pixel screens.

The Pixel 12 Pro Fold’s inner display is listed at 2,296 x 2,404, up from the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s 2,076 x 2,152. The proportions are close to square, which suggests Google isn’t following the shorter, wider design Samsung and Apple are adopting for their foldables.
Prepare for a price increase
The Pixel 12 will likely come out in August 2027. Google announced the Pixel 10 on a Wednesday in August 2025 and the Pixel 11 on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026. Pre-orders opened the same day, and the Pixel 11 reached stores on Aug. 20.

Based on the Pixel 11’s U.S. prices, the Pixel 12 could cost up to $999, up from $899. Google already raised the base price by $100 this year while doubling base storage to 256 GB, and memory costs are still climbing.
So, a straight $100 increase across the board wouldn’t be surprising. That would put the Pixel 12 Pro at $1,199, the Pixel 12 Pro XL at $1,399, and the Pixel 12 Pro Fold at $1,999, which would be the first time a Pixel costs that much.
That said, the base model could keep its $899 price tag while Google raises the price of the Pro models instead.
