“Hero of the Leap” is a Side Quest in Wuthering Waves that becomes available once you reach Jinzhou City. This quest challenges you to navigate the city's terrain through parkour and complete the Overdash challenge. Do you have what it takes to become an Overdash Master?
Step-by-Step Hero of the Leap Guide
Start the Quest

To start the quest, head west of Jinzhou City and talk to Dashbon. He's located near the Relic Merchant. After talking to him, Dashbon will ask you to train with him for an Overdashing competition.
Start the Training

Once you accept the request, you will transported to the roof automatically. The rules for the training are simple:
- Avoid pavement, grass, stairs, and ponds.
- Use the Sensor utility to find the optimal path.
This Side Quest does not have a time limit, so take your time to use Sensor and switch to another utility (i.e. Grapple) to make the challenge easier.
Use Grapple Points

There are Grapple Points around Jinzhou City, and you will encounter several on your route. Don't hesitate to use them with your Grappling Hook, as they will hasten your traversal toward your goal.
Touch the Road Signs

As you traverse the course track, you will encounter black cubes, as shown in the image. These cubes are called Road Signs. It will restore a certain amount of Stamina when touched or run through.
There's no need to collect all of the Road Signs, as they do not affect the completion of the side quest. The primary purpose of the Road Signs is to help you recover Stamina.
For this first track, stay on the roof to avoid accidentally stepping on grass or pavement. Taking the Grapple Points on the roof is much easier than traversing below.
Collect Track One Rewards

Once you have completed the first track, you will receive the following rewards from the Standard Supply Chest:
- x20 Union EXP
- x10 Astrite
- x3,000 Shell Credit
- x2 Medium Resonance Potion
- x2 Wood-textured Shard
- x1 Basic Energy Core
- x1 Training Rectifier
Start North Gate Track

Dashbon mentioned that there's a new track. Head to the North Gate of Jinzhou and interact with the Tactical Hologram: Overdash to start the second part of the quest.
The rules are the same: Avoid walking on pavement, grass, stairs, and ponds. Failing to do so will restart the challenge.
Use Sensor Utility

Similar to the first part of the quest, use the Sensor feature to find the best path for this track. It will be marked with a golden trail. Following the track is optional but will save you from getting lost.
Use the Grapple

Using Grapple for this track is highly recommended due to the long gaps between buildings. To complete this track, check the street lights for Grapple Points, scale walls, and jump-glide from roof to roof.
Pick up Road Signs

Picking up Road Signs will restore some of your Stamina, giving you the boost you need to reach the goal faster. Remember that this is optional and will not affect the result of the quest.
North Gate Track Reward

Once you have reached the goal mark, a Standard Supply Chest will appear with the following rewards:
- x20 Union EXP
- x10 Astrite
- x3,000 Shell Credit
- x1 Medium Resonance Potion
- x2 Wood-textured Shard
- x1 Basic Energy Core
- x1 Tyro Broadblade
- x1 Training Gauntlets
Start South Gate Track

The third Overdash track is located in the southern part of Jinzhou City, right on top of a tall pillar near the waterfall. It should be marked automatically after completing the previous track.
Use the Sensor

After activating the Tactical Hologram: Overdash, use your Sensor and look down to find the golden trail. Similar to the previous track, use this to spot the best route.
Use Road Signs

Picking up the Road Signs will replenish some of your Stamina, so run through them when needed. Other than that, Road Signs serve no other purpose, and missing them won't alter the completion of the quest.
Grapple Through

From roofs to street lights, you will encounter Grapple Points. Use them to avoid falling. Remember, the challenge will reset if you land on the pavement, grass, stairs, or ponds.
Reach the Goal

You will use Grapple mostly on this track and must climb walls to reach the roofs. Keep an eye on where the golden trail leads you, as there are tricky areas that might result in falling onto the pavement and stairs.
Once you reach the goal, look down to find the Standard Supply Chest. You will receive the following rewards:
- x20 Union EXP
- x10 Astrite
- x3,000 Shell Credit
- x1 Medium Resonance Potion
- x2 Wood-textured Shard
- x1 Medium Sealed Tube
- x1 Basic Energy Core
- x1 Training Broadblade
Report to Dashbon

After completing all three tracks, return to Dashbon. He will give you an Enhanced Difficulty, which offers more challenges. All Grapple Points in the area are removed, forcing you to scale walls, glide, and jump from rooftop to rooftop.
Complete the Enhanced Difficulty
Watch our clip for our full walkthrough of the Enhanced Difficulty.
Without the Grapple Point, you will have to jump roof to roof. Be careful as you traverse through the route. Stepping on pavement, grass, stairs, and ponds will reset the challenge.
In place of Grapple Point, you will find Module: Jump. Jumping on it will propel you upward. Use this to glide across and reach the next roof.
Final Reward

When the final challenge of Hero of the Leap is completed, an Advanced Supply Chest will appear. Opening it, you will receive the following rewards:
- x30 Union EXP
- x20 Astrite
- x6,000 Shell Credit
- x1 Medium Energy Core
