When Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 earlier this year, they gave us the shocking news that the phone was going to support an industry-leading seven years of major OS and security updates. That was pretty big considering the previous generation only supported five years of updates.
Well, it looks like Samsung is ready to show how serious they are about timely updates, with the March security update already rolling out to S24 devices a couple of days into the month.
The March Update For The S24 Series Is Here
If you hopped onto the earlier adopter train and have already copped yourself one of the Samsung Galaxy S24 devices, I am sure you'll be very happy to know that the March update for the phones is already rolling out. While you might not have it just about yet depending on where you live, it should get to you in a few days at most.
There's no extensive feature list containing the fixes and upgrades that this update comes with. Nope, it is just a regular security update, and for the most part, that isn't much of a surprise. The previous update for the Galaxy S24 lineup came with a whole lot of improvements to fix problems that people had with the phones straight from launch.
For the S24 Ultra, the update is about 441MB in size, so it's not close to the heftiest update we've seen, and you should be able to get it downloaded and installed real quickly.
The Last Update Brought Major Improvements To The Camera And Display
When the Samsung Galaxy S24 devices launched and consumers finally got to test them out, there was something major that most people noticed. The usual saturated colors that Samsung screens are known for were absent, even when the Screen Mode was set to Vivid. After a lot of complaining, Samsung claimed it was an intentional tweak in color settings.
However, it didn't take long before the weight of the complaints made them push an update containing a Vividness slider, which allows you to push the saturation up when you're in the Vivid screen mode.
That wasn't the only thing the update came with, however. There were also several modifications made to the camera performance, especially for the S24 Ultra, to ensure that the software was producing the kind of results expected of the amazing cameras on the back of the phone.
A lot of fixes came with the previous update, which started rolling out internationally about a week ago. So, it's not too much of a surprise that there's not much for Samsung to bundle in this March update so soon after.
Are The Samsung Galaxy S24 Phones Worth It?
It depends on who you ask, but if you're looking for the best flagship Android smartphones that are currently available, you certainly can't go wrong by going with something in the S24 line.
We've reviewed the S24 Ultra, and we've also talked about how the Galaxy S24+ might be the best choice out of the bunch, but if you simply want great performance without spending too much, the S24 is the way to go.
