LG to launch handset with touch-free gesture controls at MWC 2019 4MWC 2019 is shaping up to be a much bigger deal than it was in 2018 with Huawei, Xiaomi, Sony among the brands scheduled to launch handsets with 5G, foldable displays, and even a smartphone without ports or buttons. It will be a wild few days in Barcelona next month, and LG is joining the party by teasing a gesture controlled device that could be the G8 ThinQ.

According to the teaser video above, LG will premiere its brand new phone at MWC 2019 on February 24 in Barcelona. As you can see, LG is intimating that we can say ‘Goodbye to Touch' with this new device which could be the G8 ThinQ. Whether this is the same LG handset that will purportedly feature a secondary screen that can be attached as a sort of case is unknown as yet. Other rumors say the G8 will feature a waterdrop notch, 3D sensing camera, and running the new Snapdragon 855 processor.

You may remember LG's Head of Global Corporate Communications, Ken Hong, dismissing a report that allegedly showed the G8's sporting a rather uninspired design, so it will be interesting to see just accurate the render actually is.
