Microsoft Launcher 5.2 opens up to beta testers with UI changes and better Microsoft Rewards integration

Microsoft may have totally abandoned Windows Phone but their Microsoft Launcher for Android is actually one of the better options for third-party launchers for your smartphone. It has a ton of extra features and integration with Microsoft services, and Microsoft frequently updates it with changes, fixes, and new stuff.

The latest version of the launcher, version 5.2, has now hit beta status in the Play Store. It's a small update, but it does have Microsoft better integrating their rewards program into the launcher and conforming to Google's new permissions structure.

Non-full screen folders for easier one-handed use and large-screen devices
– Microsoft Rewards daily deal card now allows you to earn Rewards points for using Microsoft Launcher and completing other tasks!
– Long-press shortcuts now work on home screen icons even when the home screen is locked.
– Microsoft Launcher no longer asks for Calls/SMS permissions by default per Google Play Store policies.
– Customers can now send a CPU profile through “Contact Us” in Settings in case of device performance issues
– Adaptive font- Launcher font size will now respect the system font size

If you want to join in on the beta fun Microsoft is openly accepting new users via the Play Store. Otherwise you can expect the update to roll out into the stable channel in the next few weeks.
