The OnePlus 6T launched back on October 30th, I mean 29th, and it's generally been well received, offering value for money at an admittedly higher price than ever before. With the gorgeous Thunder Purple variant and the speedier McLaren Edition that sports a whopping 10GB of RAM, OnePlus is keeping its latest handsets firmly in the headlines. The latest news is that OnePlus has announced the first Open Beta build for the OnePlus 6T, which will allow users to test new features before rolling out to the stable OxygenOS channel.
While the initial build of the Open Beta firmware doesn't hold any significant additions, there are some notable new features, as illustrated in the changelog below:
System
- Updated Android security patch to 2018.12
- Added toast message when parallel apps are unavailable due to data corruption
Communication
- Added call history for incoming calls from unknown numbers
- Optimized UI for Spam messages and calls
OnePlus Switch
- Now supports migrating data from iPhone
Other than the December security patch, the most notable new feature is that OnePlus Switch now supports migrating data from an iPhone to the OnePlus 6T. Still, it's a solid beginning. You can download the Open Beta firmware directly from here to manually flash on your OnePlus 6T.
