Last week, Android Headlines leaked the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro's CAD renders. If you haven't seen it, it's a smaller Ultra with no S Pen that sits fourth in the lineup. It now includes Samsung Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Plus, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Galaxy S series gets a new sibling
Samsung has spent the better part of a decade defining itself against Apple's product strategy, and the S27 leaks show it adopting nearly all of it at once. Android Headlines published OnLeaks CAD renders days ago. It showed a Galaxy S27 Pro that is the Ultra shrunk down to roughly 154.06 × 73.77 × 7.95 mm around a 6.6-inch display.
It has the same thickness as the Ultra. But it's about 9 mm shorter and 5 mm narrower, with the same camera bar and triple setup on the back. The camera housing is a raised rectangular island with heavily rounded corners, running from the left edge and stopping about two-thirds across the back.
Inside it sit three lenses in an asymmetric arrangement. They're two large circular cutouts stacked on the left, and to their right a smaller flash and a third lens. The island itself is a shallow plateau that's low enough for the phone to sit flat, and it's finished in the same color and material as the rest of the back.
The display is flat with even bezels on all four sides and a centred punch-hole camera at the top. Volume and power are together on the right rail in the comparison render. Pricing puts the Pro around $1,299 with the Ultra expected to climb up to $1,399 or $1,499. However, these figures are unconfirmed.
The S27 series is all about Snapdragon
Notebookcheck obtained a screenshot from a Qualcomm project portal. It shows Samsung actively testing the Galaxy S27 series with the chimpmaker's unreleased SM8975 chip, which they would officially call Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Three projects appeared under the SM8975 codename: SS_SM8975_GS27_AP covering Asia-Pacific, SS_SM8975_GS27_KOR covering Korea, and SS_SM8975_GS27_VZW covering Verizon builds in the US. There may be regional differences in carrier requirements, network bands, or certifications, among other specifications.
Qualcomm itself is set to formally unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 alongside the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 at the Snapdragon Summit on September 22 to 24, 2026, in Hawaii. Because Samsung's Galaxy S series typically launches a few months after Qualcomm's reveal, the Galaxy S27 could launch, with retail availability expected in early 2027.
Also, trusted leaker Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) posted a regulatory filing on X recently. The post confirmed charging specs for the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, with both models listed at 60W wired charging.
If you've been a longtime Samsung fan, you'll know this is the biggest charging upgrade in years. The company has been stuck on 25W wired charging for its base and mid-tier Galaxy S models, while competitors like OnePlus, Xiaomi, and even Apple have moved comparably faster to higher speeds.
