Lenovo Z5 Pro GT offers 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and Snapdragon 855 in one monster package 3

Lenovo has released the first flagship phone of 2019, and we've still got a couple weeks left in 2018. The Z5 Pro GT has a terrible name, but enough hardware to trade blows with pretty much everything that's going to come out next year. Honestly it might even be okay to match up with some 2020 phones, too.

So what makes it so special? It's a refreshed version of Lenovo's existing Z5 Pro, and although we don't know what that GT stands for, we do know the phone has picked up Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855 CPU and a massive 12GB of RAM. It also sports 512GB of internal storage, matching the current king of space, the Galaxy Note 9. That faster processor and 50% more RAM give it a leg up on Samsung's best, however.

The carbon fiber material of the phone give it an extremely premium, sportscar-like finish, and it's paired with an equally premium 6.39-inch 1080 x 2340 AMOLED display. It supports HDR10, too, so yeah, it's an extremely nice screen. The cameras haven't seen an upgrade, but since the original Z5 Pro sports a 24MP + 16MP combination, there wasn't much else to do.

The battery is probably the weakest link in an otherwise powerhouse of a package, with Lenovo only putting 3350mAh into the phone. That's decent, but it's more in line with the LG V40 ThinQ, which didn't match up to the Galaxy Note 9 in the battery department.

The phone will likely exist just in the Chinese market, with the base model starting at around 2700 yuan, or roughly $390. That gets you the device with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is still pretty respectable. But if you have the option to get the most loaded phone on the market, you take it, right? That top model with 12GB/512GB will run around 4400 yuan, which would be around $660. That's extremely aggressively priced and likely wouldn't ever come in close to that in other markets, but hey, we can dream.
