Vivo has officially pulled back the curtain on the Vivo X500's launch. The phone will debut on September 21, 2026. The brand already teased the smartphone at its Creator Gala earlier in September 7. Also announced is the world-first BlueImage Guangyu 900 sensor and a co-developed MediaTek 2-nanometer imaging chip, and there's more.
Next-gen mobile photography is coming with the Vivo X500
The Vivo X500 is central to Vivo's most ambitious imaging goals. The brand's Creator Gala revealed why the X500 series deserves your attention when it launches. The company unveiled the BlueImage Dynamic Imaging Technology Stack featured on the device.
It will come along with the world-first BlueImage Guangyu 900 sensor, an in-house V3+ imaging chip, and a co-developed 2-nanometer MediaTek Dimensity chip with a custom imaging neural processing unit (NPU) 2.0, and CIPA 7.0 stabilization.
In particular, the V3+ imaging chip is dedicated entirely to processing what the sensor captures, handling noise reduction, color science, and HDR work without touching the main processor.
The main processor itself is a co-developed 2-nanometer Dimensity chip the brand worked on with MediaTek to customize it for the Vivo X500 rather than using a standard configuration.
With CIPA 7.0 stabilization, the phone's system compensates for up to seven stops of camera shake, which should be one of the highest stabilization ratings a smartphone has claimed.
Photography itself on the device is rumored to have upgraded telephoto quality through Raw domain generative reconstruction, a new native portrait mode with GTR texture technology, multi-focal flash portraits, and a Vivo-first AI photography assistant. The gallery app will also receive intelligent editing.
There's support for shooting videos in 4K resolution at 240fps and recording in cinematic ultra-high dynamic range Log. Vivo will also introduce an 8K native Live Photo engine powered by MemoFlow memory streaming. Four new cinematic color styles will ship out of the box.
According to Notebookcheck, a sealed retail unit of the Vivo X500 has surfaced in Vietnam. The find came from a Vietnamese importer of Chinese phone. The camera design in the photos lines up with earlier leaks.
The phone has a large circular island offset toward the left side of the back panel, and sitting on a raised plateau. The flash is mounted separately to its right in a layout that echoes the Apple iPhone 17 Pro. The module appears to house a periscope telephoto lens alongside the ultrawide and main cameras.
Oppo's Find X10 series is also not far away
Credible tech leaker Yogesh Bear shared a tip that puts the Oppo Find X10 series' India launch on a tentative date. The brand has set its sights on October 28 this month, and pricing is between ₹90,000 (≈ $946) and ₹1.5 lakh (≈ $1,577) for the Find X10, Find X10 Pro Max, and Find X10E phones.
Based on rumors from multiple sources, the standard Find X10 could feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPO display, a Dimensity 9500-series chipset, an 8,000 mAh battery, dual 200-megapixel cameras for the main and telephoto, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a 50-megapixel autofocus front camera.
The Find X10 Pro Max has a 6.78-inch 1.5K flat display with ultra-narrow symmetrical bezels and a 2-nanometer Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. The Pro Max's camera system includes three 200-megapixel lenses on the back. That is, the main, ultrawide, and periscope telephoto cameras.
Both phones will run ColorOS 17 with a Liquid Glass-inspired redesign. Of course, none of this information is confirmed until the September China launch. It's confirmed for September 17, 2026, and happens at the same event as the ColorOS 17 launch conference. Global markets follow in late October, with India targeted before Diwali in early November.
