In the last few days rumors surfaced that HTC was preparing a new smartphone for their Desire series of devices tentatively named the HTC Desire 12. That product appears to have been confirmed as images of a retail box for the HTC Desire 12 surfaced. Not only do the images confirm the device is coming to market, they also revealed some of the specs for the HTC Desire 12.
The HTC Desire series of smartphones falls in the budget category of HTC's portfolio. So it should be no surprise that the specs and hardware indicated on the retail box are on the mild side. They include a quad core MediaTek processor mated with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage onboard. The screen will be 5.5 inches with an 18:9 aspect ratio, but the display resolution will only be 1440 x 720. For cameras the HTC Desire 112 will get a 12 MP rear-facing unit capable of capturing 1080p video and a front-facing camera with a 5 MP sensor. The battery is slated to be 2730 mAh in size. Since budget phones are popular around the globe and especially in markets that support dual SIMs, the HTC Desire 12 is equipped with slots for two nano-SIMs along with a microSD card slot.

Thus far there has been no word on release dates, markets, or pricing. Perhaps more details will be available at MWC 2018.
