How to Get Stronger Fast in Solo Leveling: Arise
Level Up Sung Jinwoo

The most important thing you'll need to do to get stronger fast is to level up Sung Jinwoo since he's the unit you'll use in most of the battles in the game (e.g. Story Chapter battles, Gate battles, etc.).
Not only that but the max levels of your Hunters are also limited by Sung Jinwoo's level, which means you cannot level them up beyond Sung Jinwoo's current level.
To level up Sung Jinwoo, you need Player EXP. You can get it mainly by completing the Story stages and clearing Gates.
TIP: While clearing Gates, you'll get bonus Player EXP based on how many Gates you've cleared per day. Clear at least 10 Gates daily if you want to claim all the bonus Player EXP.
Allocate Sung Jinwoo's Stats Carefully

Allocating Sung Jinwoo's stat points optimally is also very important, as you may have trouble winning tougher fights (e.g. the battle with Igris in Chapter 8) if you don't invest in the right stats.
| All Sung Jinwoo Stats | Description |
|---|---|
| Strength | Increases Jinwoo’s Basic Attack. |
| Vitality | Increases Jinwoo’s HP and Defense. |
| Agility | Increases Jinwoo’s Critical Hit Rate and Critical Damage. |
| Intelligence | Increases Jinwoo’s total MP and decreases his skills’ cooldowns. |
| Perception | Increases Jinwoo’s Precision, which determines the maximum amount of damage he can deal per attack. |
As a general guideline, investing in Perception > Strength > Agility—prioritized in that order—would be the most optimal choice, as Sung Jinwoo performs best with tons of DPS.

NOTE: Sung Jinwoo's stat allocations can be reset in exchange for Gold, so don't worry about messing up his stats too much!
Change Sung Jinwoo's Job

Just like in the manhwa, Sung Jinwoo can change Jobs in Solo Leveling: Arise. This gives him gives him better skills, additional Power, and stat points.
Changing Sung Jinwoo's Job to The Monarch of Shadows, for example, gives him 30 stat points as well as Tenacity—a buff that decreases the damage he takes whenever his health is low.
You can only change Sung Jinwoo's Job by progressing in the Story. The two best Jobs currently in the game—Necromancer and The Monarch of Shadows—can be unlocked upon clearing Chapter 9 – Back to the Grind.
Level Up, Upgrade, & Advance Your Hunters

Unlike Sung Jinwoo, your Hunters can only be leveled up using Gold. You can get stronger fast just by leveling up your Hunters, but again, remember that their max level is dictated by Sung Jinwoo's max level, so farm Player EXP as often as you can!
Also, make sure to pick the Hunters you Level Up, Upgrade, and Advance carefully, as Gold is a very valuable resource in this game. You'll need to spend every bit of it wisely and make good investments, otherwise, you'll run out of Gold pretty quickly and with very little progress to show for it.

Level Up Sung Jinwoo & Your Hunters' Skills

Two types of materials can increase skill levels in the Solo Leveling: Arise:
- [Player] Skill Scrolls
- Skill Scrolls
Sung Jinwoo uses [Player] Skill Scrolls and Gold to level up his skills. You can farm [Player Skill Scrolls] mainly by clearing Red Gates.
Visit our skills guide for Sung Jinwoo to know the best skills to equip him with depending on the situation and which you should invest your [Player] Skill Scrolls in!

Hunters, on the other hand, require ordinary Skill Scrolls and Gold to level up their skills. You can also farm a lot of these scrolls from Red Gates.
You can level up a Hunter's Basic Attacks, Basic Skills, and Special Skills with Skill Scrolls, and that's seven skills in total per Hunter.
TIP: As a general guideline, we recommend investing Skill Scrolls on your Hunter's Basic Skills and Special Skills first—especially on their Support Skills, as these are the skills that help Sung Jinwoo during his battles.
Enhance & Optimize Artifacts

One of the best ways to get stronger fast in Solo Leveling: Arise is to equip both Sung Jinwoo and your Hunters with Artifacts in the same set and then Enhance them.
As you can see from the image above, each Artifact has a Main Stat that can be increased at every level and Substats that can either be increased or gained anew at every level.
There are also four different Artifact rarities, which determine how many Substats are unlocked or upgraded per Enhancement Level:
| Artifact Rarities | Substats Unlocked & Upgraded |
|---|---|
| Common (Grey) | Enhancement Level +5 (Unlocks random Substat) Enhancement Level +10 (Unlocks random Substat) Enhancement Level +15 (Unlocks random Substat) |
| Rare (Blue) | Enhancement Level +5 (Unlocks random Substat) Enhancement Level +10 (Unlocks random Substat) Enhancement Level +15 (Upgrades random Substat) |
| Epic (Purple) | Enhancement Level +5 (Unlocks random Substat) Enhancement Level +10 (Upgrades random Substat) Enhancement Level +15 (Upgrades random Substat) |
| Legendary (Yellow) | Enhancement Level +5 (Upgrades random Substat) Enhancement Level +10 (Upgrades random Substat) Enhancement Level +15 (Upgrades random Substat) |
You can Enhance Artifacts using Gold and Artifact Enhancement Chips which you can get mainly by clearing Gates or purchasing them from the Mana Crystal Exchange Shop.
TIP: Do not invest too much Gold in Rare (Blue) Artifacts and below. Instead, save them for Gold and Purple Artifacts. Each Hunter has Recommended Stats that are shown when changing their Artifacts, which you can use as a decent guideline when choosing artifacts to equip your Hunters with.

If you want to get stronger fast, we highly recommend equipping Artifacts of the same set because doing this will give you Set Effects. Sung Jinwoo and your Hunters get Set Effects every time they equip 2 or 4 Artifacts of the same set.
As you can see from the image above, you can easily check what Set Effects Sung Jinwoo or your Hunters are affected by.
We have a Sung Jinwoo best artifacts guide too. Make sure you check it out!
Enhance & Advance Weapons

There are two types of Weapons in Solo Leveling: Arise, namely:
- Player Weapons can only be equipped by Sung Jinwoo.
- Hunter Weapons can only be equipped by Hunters. This includes all Hunters' Exclusive Weapons.
Enhancing and Advancing both Weapon types is among the best ways to get stronger fast in Solo Leveling: Arise.
Make sure to choose the best Player Weapons and Hunter Weapons to invest in—especially for Sung Jinwoo, as his choice of Weapons changes his Basic Attacks and gives him different Weapon Skills in battle.
TIP: In terms of pure DPS potential, the best weapon for Sung Jinwoo is the Demonic Plum Flower Sword, which is also one of the best Weapons to reroll for especially if you're a beginner.

Both Player Weapons and Hunter Weapons can be Enhanced, Limit Broken, and undergo Advancements:
| Weapon Upgrade Methods | Materials Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Enhancement | Gold Weapon Enhancement Gears | Increases the level and the amount of stats provided by the Weapon. |
| Limit Break | Gold Designs Melding Cubes | Increases the max level of the Weapon. |
| Advancement | Gold Weapon Duplicates | Increases a Weapon's Precision and enhances its special effects. |
| Dimensional Advancement | Gold Weapon Duplicates | Enhances a Weapon's special effects even further beyond. This can only be unlocked upon reaching max Advancement with a Weapon. |
You'll need to do a lot of limit-breaking if you want to get stronger fast and win increasingly harder battles, so we highly advise that you Rescan your Gates often and clear Dungeon Breaks for Melding Cubes.
TIP: Do not salvage R (Blue) Weapons haphazardly, especially Hunter Weapons. You can Advance R Weapons more easily, and some of them can even outperform low-advancement SR (Purple) Weapons at their max Dimensional Advancement level!
Upgrade Your Army of Shadows

You unlock the Army of Shadows feature upon completing Chapter 9 of the Story. This gives you a massive boost in Power and allows you to summon armies of Shades and Shadows to fight beside you in battle.
If you want to get stronger fast and be able to clear harder stages and game modes, then unlocking this feature is essential.

Once unlocked, you can upgrade your Army of Shadows using Gold and Shadow Energy, which you can farm by clearing Gates. This increases the size of your Shadow Army and your Total Power.
Moreover, you can also enhance your Shadows (i.e. the special units that you can summon in battle alongside your Shades) by using Gold, Traces of Shadow, and Abyssal Fragments.
NOTE: You need to play through the Story to unlock more Shadows. You can unlock your first Shadow, Igris, by clearing the Chapter 9 Story Quest titled “Job Perks”.
Unlock & Enhance Armory Slots

If you want to get stronger fast and gain some extra Power, then we recommend unlocking your Armory Slots so you can put Sung Jinwoo's Player Weapons there.
Player Weapons placed in the Armory will provide you additional Power based on the total Power each of your Armory Weapons has. You get additional Power every time you upgrade a Weapon in your Armory Slots.
To unlock Armory Slots, you need to spend either Essence Stones (which we don't recommend) or Marks of Time, which can be farmed from Gates and bought from the Weapon Materials Exchange Shop.
Additionally, you can enhance any Armory Slot using Gold and Marks of Time. This increases the Power given to you by the Weapon placed in the Armory Slot you enhanced.
