You can fight World Bosses (i.e. Primal Lords) in AFK Journey upon unlocking certain areas of the World Map. Upon defeat, these World Bosses give away valuable resources such as Diamonds, Invite Letters, and Hero Essences to all players on the server.

World Boss Overview
World Boss events allow players in the same server to unite and battle tough bosses in exchange for various rewards, namely:
- Diamonds
- Equipment Chests
- Invite Letters
- Hero Essences
- Soulstones
- Training Manuals
- Tidal Essences
- Frames
- Titles
The way World Boss battles work is that you'll have to build a team consisting of five heroes, then deal as much damage as you can before the timer runs out or the boss wipes out your team.
You get three attempts to attack the World Boss per day. The damage you and your fellow server members did to the boss in all of your attack attempts will then be combined and deducted from the World Boss's total HP until its defeat.
WARNING: Starting the battle will lock in your team. Once the battle starts, exiting will not give you back the attempt you've just used, so make sure you've already optimized your team before attacking the boss. No test runs!
Additionally, your highest damage will also be recorded and compared against all the other players on your server, giving you a rank in the leaderboard—as shown in the image above.
Remember that you still get the server-wide rewards even if you don't manage to get a high ranking or unlock the World Boss at all!
Nevertheless, a high rank in the World Boss will give you rare titles and items—both of which will be discussed further below.
All World Bosses & How to Unlock Them
Currently, you can fight two World Bosses/Primal Lords upon unlocking the following areas in the World Map:
- Lone Gaze (Unlock Dark Forest 5 in the World Map)
- Alpha Bear (Unlock Vaduso Mountains 5 in the World Map)
Upon unlocking these areas, you can easily find the current World Boss by opening your map and checking the following indicator:
If the World Boss has already been defeated by your server, however, the indicator will be replaced by this one instead:
This map indicator signifies the Eternal Inscription, where the Top 20 players with the highest damage on the defeated World Boss are memorialized.
All World Boss Rewards
As you can see from the image above, the rewards that players get from World Bosses depend on how fast they defeat the boss. These rewards are then distributed equally to all players in the server upon the boss's defeat.

As you can see from the table above, the faster your server kills the boss, the more Diamonds all of you will receive. Other server-wide rewards, however, are unaffected.

Last but not least, remember that you also get the following rewards after each attack on the World Boss:

The amount of items given to you after every attack depends on how high the damage you dealt on the World Boss is.
World Boss events are one of the few ways you can farm Hero Essences, which is one of the hardest items to get enough of in AFK Journey. Make sure to always attack the World Boss three times per day and you'll be able to farm a decent amount of Hero Essences for your Hero Ascensions!

When it comes to building the best team for World Bosses, keep in mind that your priority isn't necessarily surviving, but dealing as much damage as you can instead.
To make an optimal World Boss team, we recommend that you only deploy one tank, then fill the rest of your team with damage dealers and perhaps one support—preferably one that boosts your team's overall damage.

Best Artifacts for World Boss Battles
As for Artifacts, the best one to bring along would be the Starshard Spell, as it deals true damage relative to the World Boss's total HP—allowing you to deal tons of damage every time it activates.
If your team is having trouble surviving long enough to deal a significant amount of damage, however, feel free to consider using the Awakening Spell or the Ironwall Spell instead.
