Samsung has a huge catalog of devices, but when it comes to smartphones, its S series and Z series get the most fanfare each year. The S series of devices comes out at the beginning of the year during the Samsung Unpacked event.
However, each year also has a second Samsung Unpacked event that brings the Korean manufacturer's new foldables alongside other associated gadgets. This year, on pretty good authority, it seems the date of Samsung Unpacked will be July 10th.
Samsung's Unpacked Event For The Summer Will Be On July 10th
Before the first month of the year had left us behind, Samsung had already jumped ahead to claim a lot of the spotlight for the rest of the year with the very excellent S24 series. As they've been doing for the last handful of years, a second Unpacked event at the rough halfway point of the year comes in to refresh the Korean company's chokehold on the industry.
Samsung's summer Unpacked event is home to the yearly launches of the Z series of foldables as well as new iterations of the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, and new for 2024, the Galaxy Ring. Thanks to the folks at SamMobile and their sources, it looks like we can expect the next Samsung Unpacked event on July 10th.
This is a little earlier than Samsung Unpacked came last year, but it makes sense considering the Olympics will start in late July, and Samsung, being one of the biggest sponsors of the games, will want to have its new devices ready for a lot of intense marketing during what should be one of the most televised events this year.
We're Expecting A Lot Of Changes To Samsung's Devices For This Year
2024 is the year of shake-ups for Samsung. We didn't see too much shift around from the norm with the S24 series, beyond the S24 Ultra going back to a flat screen (woot woot!). However, Samsung's foldables and smartwatches are expected to make a lot of changes, along with the addition of an entirely new wearable.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are both rumored to come with two models a piece this year, with a lower-priced model for each of them — an FE model as they've been unofficially coined. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is also expected to get a facelift and adopt a more angular design like the S24 Ultra. There's also expected to be a third Galaxy Watch model, supposedly a re-release of the Galaxy Watch 4. The Galaxy Buds 3 is expected to come too, with a Pro model in tow, though that's not any different from last year's pattern.
We also know that we're going to be getting the Galaxy Ring, Samsung's first smart ring, during this event. This was a surprise drop at the end of the Unpacked event at the beginning of the year. We know that the ring should come in as many as eight sizes and will be able to track some basic health metrics, but Samsung has done a pretty good job keeping most details under wraps, so we'll wait for July for the full lowdown on that one.
