Microsoft gave up on Windows Phone, but lately we've seen a hard pivot into turning Android as the mobile companion to Windows 10. Every couple months it seems like we get a new feature teased that makes your smartphone and computer sync up a little bit better.
Windows 10 Android apps
The latest tease comes from Microsoft saying that they'll let you run Android apps on your Windows 10 machine when paired with the Your Phone software. But wait, isn't that already a thing?

Yeah, it is. But where this new feature improves on what's already there is that now these Android app instances are being teased as being resizable. So instead of fixed-size Android apps floating around on your Windows desktop, they'll feel much more natural and like a regular app that you can contort to fit your workstation.
This may not seem like a huge deal, but considering one of Google's selling points on a Chromebook is the ability to natively run Android applications, this gives Windows 10 near feature parity without Microsoft having to abandon their cash cow. And in a mobile-first world where there are lots of apps that don't necessarily have a desktop Windows 10 equivalent, this opens up how functional Windows 10 can be.
