Surprise! Owners of the unlocked HTC One A9 are receiving a major software update today.

Mo Versi, HTC's VP of Product Management, says the unlocked One A9 is getting Android 7.0 Nougat right now.

When announcing Nougat's availability on its devices, HTC was only specific about the HTC 10. Phones like the One A9 and One M9 were just labeled as being next. The software update for the latest version of Android reached HTC's 2016 flagship a couple of months ago, but owners of other devices have been waiting for a long time. Today's the day for unlocked One A9 owners to rejoice and wait for the software update notification to surface at any moment.
