It's always a pleasure to see a powerful phone launch, and Honor has graced us with one. The Win Turbo smartphone has launched, and is the third phone in the Win series beside the Win and Win RT.
True to its name, the phone wasted no time as it quickly became available for purchase. Most phone launches would separate the announcement or preorder phase from official launch.
Win Turbo is as powerful as its rumored to be
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Honor has launched the WIN Turbo in China. The base model comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage with a 2,699 RMB (≈ $399) tag, while the model with 512GB storage costs 2,999 RMB (≈ $443). The highest configuration reaches 16GB RAM with 512GB storage and costs 3,599 RMB (≈ $532).
Lucky for you, launch pricing is discounted to 2,294 RMB (≈ $339), 2,549 RMB (≈ $377), and 3,099 RMB (≈ $458) respectively. Now's your chance to grab the phone at a meaningfully lower price than what it will settle at. The offer arrives in time for China's 618 shopping festival, which is one of the biggest retail events in the country.
The processor is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite, specifically the Racing Edition variant, which is a performance-tuned version of the chip. Honor paired it with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The phone runs Android 16 with the Magic UI 10.0 skin.
The display is a 6.79-inch LTPS screen with a 2640x1200p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Battery capacity is 10,000mAh with 80W wired support, a large enough feature to be a headline feature on its own. The typical range is usually 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh. More importantly, the battery also supports 27W reverse charging, so you can double the phone as a power bank to charge other devices.
Fast charging may not be so fast
Although 80W falls under fast charging, a 10,000mAh cell will likely take longer to reach full charge compared with a smaller battery at the same wattage now that there's more capacity to fill. On the bright side, charging to 50% is the equivalent of a fully charged 5,000mAh battery. So, you have longer battery life than most users.
However, with 80W wired charging, a 10,000mAh cell will take longer to fill than a smaller battery at the same wattage. But the trade-off is significantly more capacity for heavy users or those who go extended periods without access to a charger.
Unlike the previous Win series phones, the Turbo does not have a cooling fan. DCS didn't share a specific reason why Honor removed it, but the phone is slim at 7.98mm and weighs 216 grams. It's possible the removal is connected to achieving the form factor because the 10,000mAh battery eats physical space inside the chassis.
The WIN Turbo has a dual rear camera setup including a 50MP main sensor paired with a 5MP secondary camera. The front camera is a standard 16MP lens. The build uses a metal frame, and Honor has equipped the phone with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. It covers both submersion resistance and high-pressure, high-temperature water jet resistance.
