The NVIDIA Shield TV (review here) is one of our favorite streaming boxes for your TV, and that's in large part thanks to NVIDIA's very broad support for a ton of different hardware and software. It's the currently most updated Android TV set and can do pretty much everything you could imagine; it can play a ton of different video formats and supports all of the most popular streaming services, it's a killer gaming system thanks to NVIDIA's built-in services and the wide array of Android emulators, and it makes a pretty good HTPC replacement with a few different browsers and add-ons.
But for a lot of this stuff, the default remote just won't cut it. NVIDIA's controller helps for some things, but it's hard to argue against the usefulness of a dedicated keyboard.
We're going over some of the best available keyboards for your NVIDIA Shield TV to help you pick the best one.
Budget friendly: Logitech K400 Plus Wireless Keyboard
Logitech makes a ton of great stuff, whether you're looking for a durable office setup or something a little more gamer-y. Their peripherals offer wide compatibility, long-lasting battery life, and a ton of functionality for cheap, which makes the K400 Plus wireless keyboard a perfect pick for the NVIDIA Shield TV.
It's a relatively small keyboard, but it also has a built-in trackpad (which Android TV can actually use!) and some volume controls in a convenient location. It also typically sells for $25, so if you're looking for something that can do it all without breaking the bank, it's hard to recommend anything else.
It doesn't have Bluetooth, so you will have to give up one of your Shield's USB ports for Logitech's unifying receivers. But that's a relatively small trade-off for the excellent battery life and convenience of everything else about the K400 Plus.

Step up: Logitech K600 Wireless Keyboard
If you like Logitech's K400 Plus in theory but want something a little nicer, the K600 is a perfect step up for a smart TV setup. While the K400 is really designed to work with a computer, the K600 is designed from the ground up to be a streaming box companion.
It trades the utilitarian boxy aesthetic for something a little rounder and friendlier for the living room. The buttons are rounded off, the trackpad is fully circular, and it gains some buttons on the left hand side that are made specifically for navigating a smart box like the NVIDIA Shield.
It also has a directional pad in the top right corner to make navigating menus easier than a clunky PC number pad or the touchpad, and it connects via Bluetooth with quick toggles to jump back and forth among a PC, smart TV, and smartphone. At around $50 it's still pretty affordable but delivers a ton of extra worthwhile functionality.

Gamer Aesthetic: Corsair K83 Wireless Keyboard
With the NVIDIA Shield TV having a heavy gaming influence, it wouldn't be any surprise for someone to want a matching keyboard that can help keep up with that, whether we're talking about Android gaming or PC gaming. Corsair has stepped into the market to try and deliver with their K83 wireless keyboard, designed to ease your smart TV navigation while still doubling as a killer gaming accessory.
You're still getting a fully featured, totally wireless keyboard, but the right side near the trackpad houses some unique features that you won't find anywhere else. Most notably is the joystick in the top right corner, plus some trigger-like buttons around the backside of the keyboard. These two things are designed to allow the keyboard to almost act like a controller, which should make gaming feel a little more natural and navigating feel more intuitive for someone that's used to a PC and mouse.
This thing is fully wireless via an adapter or Bluetooth LE, has a completely backlit set of keys, and is made of high-quality brushed aluminum, signature from Corsair. It's a little more expensive at $99, but if you're looking for the best of the best, this should make your short list.

Most compact: Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard
The other keyboards on this list are great, but they're also big, full keyboards. For someone that's not interesting in gaming or full productivity work but just wants an easier way to type what you're searching for on the web or in Netflix, something like the Rii wireless keyboard is a much better option.
Not only are you getting a real QWERTY keyboard plus a trackpad, but it's all mini sized so it can sit next to your couch and blend in just like your smartphone would. That can make navigating a little tougher if you were using this for something like a PC, but as an add-on to your NVIDIA Shield TV just for typing, you can't beat it.
It also helps that it's really cheap, too. At just $16.99 you're not spending much money, but you are saving yourself a lot of time and trouble when it comes to fumbling around with a remote keyboard.

Don't forget that while the NVIDIA Shield TV easily works with all of those, most Android TV sets and streaming boxes can also make use of them. Android is pretty flexible and doesn't discriminate against hardware, so even if you're just using your television or something like a Mi Box, this list still works for you too!
So how about if you wanted to hook up a geeni sentinel security cam to keep tabs on your family while your @ work ? The Geeni cam won’t work because the geeni only runs on 2.4 internet NOT the 5G my isp offers. The geeni only set me back $76 but my beef is having to give my Wi-password & that’s NOT going to happen upon registration to geeni which should be against the law.none of their business.
