Google Fi Wireless has announced a limited-time promotion that cuts the price of its unlimited plans in half for new customers who bring their own phone.
The offer applies to people who activate a new line using an existing Android phone or iPhone. Instead of purchasing a device through Fi, you can simply transfer your current phone and activate service through the Fi app, typically using eSIM. Here's how much discount awaits you.
Half price slashes for your next carrier switch to Google's network
Google Fi Wireless is Google’s mobile phone service that provides calls, texts, and mobile data, just like any other carrier. It uses T-Mobile’s network in the USA, being a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) without its own infrastructure.
Per the promo, the Unlimited Standard plan drops from $50 per month to $25 per month for one line during the first year. Meanwhile, the more affordable Unlimited Essentials plan falls from $35 per month to $18 per month during the same period. After the first 12 months, pricing returns to the regular monthly rates.

If you have up to six people on your plan, the Unlimited Standard plan falls to about $13 per line, while Unlimited Essentials drops to roughly $12 per line for the first year.
Google says the deal is meant to make switching carriers easier, if you already own compatible phones. The plans still include Fi’s usual perks such as spam call blocking, built-in VPN protection, and priority data on their network. The promotion is temporary and scheduled to end March 25, so you'll want to hurry.
Conditions for eligibility
As aforementioned, you must be a new Google Fi customer to be eligible for the discounts. That means either you have never used Fi before, or you previously had Fi but stopped using it at least 180 days ago.

Besides bringing your own device, you must also activate a line on either the Unlimited Standard or Unlimited Essentials plan within 30 days after starting the purchase. If you are joining a group plan, every person must accept the invite and sign up before the promotion expires.
You must also be a US resident aged 18 or older with a Google Pay account and a Google Fi account. If you change plans or cancel the service, the promotion stops and the remaining credits disappear. Unfortunately, unused credits do not carry over to future months.
While you can't combine this offer with other device promotions, you can still buy a phone normally. If you buy a Pixel 10a right now and sign up for Unlimited Premium, you'll get the full $499 off the phone purchase. Fi splits that into 24 monthly credits of about $21. You also get an extra $10 credit every month as long as you remain on the plan.

It’s worth noting that the Google Pixel 10a is still a very new device. This is your opportunity to offset the costs if you were considering getting a midrange phone.
