Vivo used this year’s Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona to preview the video capabilities of its upcoming flagship, the Vivo X300 Ultra. Rather than focusing solely on photography upgrades, Vivo is pushing heavily into professional-grade video tools, positioning the phone as a serious content-creation device.
According to the company, the X300 Ultra is designed to move smartphone imaging beyond standalone camera features and into a more complete cinematic production workflow. That includes advanced Log recording, colour grading controls, and professional monitoring tools aimed squarely at filmmakers and video creators.
Built for cinematic video

The headline feature of the Vivo X300 Ultra is its ability to record 4K video at 120fps across multiple focal lengths. The phone supports both 10-bit Log recording and Dolby Vision, giving creators far greater flexibility for colour grading and dynamic range in post-production.
Vivo says all rear cameras support these high-end recording modes, allowing creators to switch between lenses without sacrificing video quality. The system also supports custom 3D LUT previews while recording in Log, something typically reserved for dedicated cinema cameras.
Stabilisation is another focus area. The phone includes full-range optical image stabilisation, with particularly strong results at 85mm thanks to a 3-degree OIS system that keeps telephoto footage smooth and stable.
Colour science and professional workflows

Vivo is also leaning heavily into colour science for the X300 Ultra. The device supports what it calls 4K Master Color Video, combining high-resolution capture with Vivo’s tone mapping system to deliver film-style colour straight out of the camera.
Creators can adjust tone, saturation, and contrast using a built-in video colour palette, giving more control over the final look of their footage. Meanwhile, compatibility with the ACES workflow means footage captured on the X300 Ultra can be integrated into professional cinema production pipelines alongside footage from dedicated cameras.
Audio designed for creators

Audio quality is also part of the package. The Vivo X300 Ultra features a quad-microphone recording system designed to capture clearer sound in a wide range of shooting environments.
The system includes six preset recording scenarios that prioritise target sound sources while reducing ambient noise. The goal is to produce cleaner audio without necessarily requiring external microphones for many shooting situations.
A modular filming setup

Vivo also demonstrated a modular accessory ecosystem that can transform the X300 Ultra into a more traditional filming rig.
The lineup includes accessories such as a professional photography grip, a camera cage, a cooling fan, and an external lens expansion frame. These add-ons allow creators to build a more advanced mobile filming setup when needed.

Early thoughts
While full hardware specifications are still to come, Vivo is clearly pitching the X300 Ultra as a serious filmmaking tool rather than just another flagship camera phone. With multi-lens 4K 120fps recording, advanced colour controls, and a modular accessory ecosystem, the device targets creators who want more than basic smartphone video.
