It's not “new new”, but it works
Samsung has announced the expansion of its official refurbished-phone program to cover the entire Galaxy S26 family. The manufacturer-backed initiative takes previously owned, traded-in, or open-box units and thoroughly reconditions, tests, and certifies them for resale well below original retail prices.
The more affordable Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are now available through Samsung.com. Samsung says its engineers rebuild each unit using 100% genuine parts, install a brand-new battery, and include the standard one-year limited manufacturer warranty bundled with new retail units.
Buyers can also add Samsung Care+ with Theft and Loss. The top-tier protection plan covers accidental drops, structural cracks, and liquid damage, while adding perks like unlimited battery replacements and zero-dollar repairs for cracked front and back glass.
Under the program, pricing starts at $759 for the base Galaxy S26, $929 for the Galaxy S26+, and $1,099 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That shaves roughly $140 to $200 off the original launch stickers.

The conditions are pretty fair
Taking advantage of Samsung's maximum trade-in value introduces some conditions. You must mail your old device to Samsung within 15 days of receiving your renewed Galaxy S26.
Of course, the trade-in unit must power on, hold a charge, feature an intact screen and casing with no liquid damage, and arrive completely factory-reset with all personal accounts and security locks removed.
You must also own the device outright, with no active carrier financing, unpaid balances, or blacklisted IMEIs. If you miss the 15-day shipping window or your phone fails inspection, Samsung will claw back the applied credit from your original payment method.
If you send in an ineligible device, they'll charge back the promotional credit minus a $25 processing fee. The promotion permits only one trade-in per transaction, cannot combine with most other discounts, and operates separately from any ongoing carrier contract obligations.
