Legend of Mushroom offers an immense variety of ways to build your Shroomie, extending even further than the end-game Class Awakenings.

Runestones are among the latest additions introduced into the game, strengthening your Artifact by combining different types to receive incredible stat bonuses.

Apart from their randomized stat effects, pairing the same type of Runestones in different slots can also provide beneficial set buffs, making your Shroomie even more powerful.

When equipping Runestones, you can have up to six (6) of them at any given moment. This makes it somewhat difficult to keep track of each type, especially when trying to achieve their set effects.

To help you out, here are the currently known set bonuses you can get by ensuring multiple same Runestone types are equipped:

SetEffect(s)
Mana Mastery2-Piece Set: Global Basic Attack +5%

4-Piece Set: Global Basic Attack +10%
Furious Gale2-Piece Set: Global Combo Damage +5%

4-Piece Set: Global Combo Damage +10%
Heart of Resilience2-Piece Set: Global Counter Damage +5%

4-Piece Set: Global Counter Damage +10%

So, you can get up to two (2) different set bonuses active by planning your Runestone pairings correctly. Case in point; a 4-piece set combined with a separate 2-piece set gives you two (2) different buffs, although the other might not be as usable for your build as the other one.

For example:

  • A 4-piece Mana Mastery set provides 10% extra Global Basic Attack for your Sacred Hunter‘s lethal Basic Attack Damage while another 2-piece Heart of Resilience set increases your Shroomie's Global Counter Damage by 5%.
  • The second set is pretty useless for this class (unless you're specifically trying to experiment with an unconventional build).

So far, set bonuses DON'T STACK (e.g. a second 4-piece set's buff doesn't activate if the same one is already triggered), so you can safely mix and match different types of Runestones with the best randomized stats as long as some of them combine to apply your preferred 4-piece set boost.

Ideally, you'll need to understand your character's overall build BEFORE equipping Runestones offering the required stats matching it. This eventually becomes somewhat of a chore as you frequently compare new ones with those already equipped.

Still, the Runestones' combined stats and effects remain for the long run, giving you a reason to pay attention to your Artifact.

How To Get Runestones

Just like the rare Feather Coins (only obtainable gameplay-wise from the Dark Trials), you can only farm Runestones by beating one particular Dungeon: the Flame Temple.

Different Runestone grades will drop according to the Flame Temple's level, so it's a good practice to run it daily to level it up, continuously improving your odds of obtaining more valuable ones.

Speaking of which:

Flame Temple (Dungeon)

The Flame Temple is found inside the Dungeon tab, above the Dark Trials. It's accessible twice (2x) per day and rewards ten (10) random Runestones per victory, meaning you can get up to twenty (20) Runestones daily.

However, you'll need Flame Temple Keys to enter. These are freely given and refreshed every day, but you'll only receive a maximum of two (2) Flame Temple Keys each time.

Due to the Runestones' high-tier nature (only applicable for players who've unlocked Artifacts), the Flame Temple Boss is quite strong, so make sure your Shroomie is always at their best setup.

How To Enhance Runestones

In their basic forms, Runestones provide minimal stat increases, offering less than a 1% attribute boost. As such, it's recommended that you equip those sharing relevant stat improvements and 4-piece set buffs according to your character's build early on, to accumulate the effects as you move forward.

From then on, it's all about enhancing your Runestones, increasing their overall levels and stat bonuses. To access your collected Runestones, you need to click your equipped Artifact from the main auto-battle screen.

With the Artifact page open, change to the Enchant tab. Afterward, proceed to “Change” your chosen Runestones. You'll be directed to the associated Runestone menu, letting you replace them if better ones pop up, or enhance them by merging with those not used for your present build.

Repeat the process every day to level up your selected Runestones and empower your Shroomie further!

What Are Runestones In Legend Of Mushroom?

In Legend of Mushroom, Runestones are enchantment materials placed onto your unlocked Artifact. They're one of the game's end-game components contributing to your character's overall Power Level, increasing some of their stats.

Runestones of the same type can be paired to provide set bonuses, and these can be decisive in battle. Furthermore, those currently equipped can be enhanced, elevating their given stats while introducing new ones at certain levels.

At the moment, they can only be obtained as rewards for defeating the Boss in the Flame Temple Dungeon. This makes them a rare resource and requires grinding every day.
