Tomorrow is Google I/O day but if you are wanting more details on the Pixel Tablet ahead of its launch then there's no need to wait. Thanks to a premature Amazon listing in Japan, we know a few more things about the Pixel Tablet. Join us after the break for more.
As reported by the Buzzap blog via WinFuture, the Amazon listing of Google's first Android tablet since the Nexus 9 back in 2014 reveals much of what will be officially announced during the Pixel Tablets unveiling at Google I/O. It also mentions that reservations for the device have already begun in Japan although the listing has since been removed.
In terms of hardware, a 10.95-inch LCD display with 2560 x 1600 resolution has been confirmed with up to 500 nits peak brightness. Google's Tensor G2 processor provides the grunt with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. USI 2.0 stylus support is also present.
The selfie camera is housed centrally (in landscape mode) and boasts 8-megapixels and there's a similar sensor on the top-right corner of the rear panel. The Pixel Tablet packs in quad speakers, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, as well as support for UltraWideBand.
A USB-C (USB 3.2 Gen 1) charging port is augmented by the presence of pogo pins on the rear panel which charge the tablet when it's placed on its dock – which is supplied in the box in most countries. Speaking of charging, a 12-hour runtime is claimed for the Pixel Tablet on the Amazon listing which also says that it will go on sale on June 20th for around 80,000 yen which equates to around $590 or so. If Google follows a similar pricing strategy in the US, the Pixel Tablet may launch with a $500-600 price tag.
