Updated May 9th: The OnePlus Pad is finally on open sale in the US and while you may have missed out on the pre-order deals the brand is still throwing in a free Folio case for its debut Android tablet. With an aluminum alloy construction whose 2.5D rounded edge has a bezel measuring just 6.54mm thick and a rear panel sporting the self-developed Star Orbit engraving with a Halo Green colorway, the OnePlus Pad stands out from the usual Android tablet design. This is furthered by the 13MP rear camera being located centrally when the tablet is in landscape mode.

Powered by MediaTek's immensely powerful Dimensity 9000 processor which uses a Cortex-X2 super core and is built using TSMC's 4nm production process, the OnePlus Pad has bags of performance on hand for those high-intensity games. Backing this up is 8/12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. OnePlus claims that the 12GB variant can handle up to 24 apps being open in the background at any one time.

OnePlus's debut tablet has a big 11.61-inch LCD display that features 2800 x 2800 resolution, and up to a 144Hz refresh rate (selected apps only). Keeping the lights on is a good-sized battery with a 9,510mAh capacity which supports 67W charging that OnePlus says can achieve a full charge within 80 minutes. This is pretty quick for a tablet. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.3, Dolby Atmos-certified quad speakers, and accessories such as a stylus (Stylo) and Magnetic Keyboard to boost productivity.

The tablet will run OxygenOS 13.1 out of the box which includes the ability to connect to a OnePlus phone to share the network connection.

OnePlus is keeping the pricing and availability details to itself for the moment, but it is known that pre-orders for the OnePlus Pad will start in April. What are your thoughts on the OnePlus Pad?
