Google Fi

With Google's messaging apps seemingly safe from being rebranded for the time being, the search giant's marketing department kept themselves busy by giving Google Fi a once over. Now known as Google Fi Wireless, the MVNO carrier also gained some useful features including a revamped app which makes it easier to access and full connectivity for Samsung's Galaxy Watch 5 series as well as the Pixel Watch. Perhaps more importantly, you can now get a 7-day trial so you can try Google Fi Wireless free of charge before making a decision to sign up or not.

Smartwatch support

You can now add your Galaxy Watch 5/5 Pro and Pixel Watch to your Google Fi Wireless plan, including the Simply Unlimited plan. Smartwatches can stay connected at no extra cost. Thes addition of smartwatch support means you can leave your phone at home and rely on your Galaxy Watch 5 or Pixel Watch to keep you connected to the outside world.

For all plans, you can now get a phone on us after 24 monthly bill credits with every new line you add to your plan. With a selection of reliable phones to choose from, including Google Pixel 6a, Samsung Galaxy A14 and Moto G Power.

The Trial

So long as you have a smartphone that supports eSIM you can sign up for a free seven day trial to Google Fi Wireless with no obligation. You can spend those seven days checking out the coverage and download speeds at the places you frequent the most, and you'll be able to make use of hotspot tethering, spam call blocking, and the built-in VPN. Plus, you'll have unlimited texts, calls, and data.

  • The free trial will auto-renew after seven days, but of course, you can cancel anytime.
  • Restrictions apply. Some data is not transmitted through VPN. The use of a VPN may increase data costs depending on your plan.
  • Blocks spam known to Google; may not detect all spam calls.
  • Location sharing requires the Google Maps app.
  • Contact controls are available on Android phones.

Family Settings

As illustrated above, the refreshed Google Fi Wireless app makes it easier to access your family's digital safety settings so your child only gets called or texted by trusted numbers.
