Pixel Tablet

First teased in 2022, the long-awaited Pixel Tablet is finally getting close to its official launch which may be as soon as May 11th or sometime during June, according to the latest report. What is certain, or as certain as we can be when it comes to leaked information, is that we can expect the Pixel Tablet to launch in an array of four colors and come with its Charging Speaker Dock included in the box.

The leaked information comes via 9to5Google whose sources have provided a number of tasty tidbits. Besides the green and white/beige colors shown off by Google last year, we can expect the Pixel Tablet to also be available in a couple more colorways of unspecified hues. The Charging Speaker Dock appears to be available in Chalk White and will be capable of performing as a charging dock (via pogo pins). As the Pixel Tablet is targeted as the replacement for the Nest Hub, it sports a physical button to turn the camera and microphone on or off, depending on your privacy needs.

Powering the Pixel Tablet is Google's Tensor G2 processor which is paired up with 8GB of RAM and reportedly a choice of two storage options.

The Charging Speaker Dock doesn't appear to feature a USB port which would make it likely that the barrel charging port is the only way to power the dock. This leads us to the usual head-scratching situation where Google is concerned because it isn't including a charging adaptor for the dock in the retail box. Hopefully, this part of the leak isn't so accurate but we all know Google likes to add a twist to its products so we'll wait and see.

  1. You can never have too much storage!
Why Google hates it, is greedily trying to coerce you to buy their storage. Without expandable storage you’re trapped in their web! Tablets should always have expandable storage that you don’t want backing up on Google! I have a 512gb sdcard full of music that I would not be able to use! I just wish they would change their anti-expandable storage attitude!
