OnePlus 8 Pro

We've seen OnePlus launch Pro versions of its handsets since the launch of the OnePlus 7 Series back in 2019 but with 2020 being the year that everything changes, it seems that this may no longer be the case. The upcoming OnePlus 8T Series may not be a series at all if a recent leak is to be believed, and may actually be launched on its lonesome.

According to Max J, the brand is not launching a Pro version of the OnePlus 8T this time around, which may mean that OnePlus will continue on the affordable mid-range strategy that it has begun with the recently announced Nord, with further such models planned for launch towards the tail-end of 2020.

If the leak is accurate, it raises the question of whether the OnePlus 8T will offer the same level of specifications as a Pro model would, or if it will feature the regular level of specification that the lesser-priced version normally would?

We aren't quite sure when the OnePlus 8T will be announced, if it's coming to the US and if so, will it be picked up by T-Mobile again? Time will answer all these questions, in the meantime, what are your thoughts?

  1. I don’t even think a 8T is even needed, we don’t need a refresh of a flagship every 6 months. All we need next year is Nord 2, OP 9 and a OP 9 Pro (for the die hards).Unless OP is selling big numbers, by removing the T line, there is less research, development, production and support. The standard line also depreciates slower meaning you can get higher profits from it over time rather than it becomes obsolete so you need to reduce the price to move stock.
