Android 11's beta is official, and that means a new round of emojis to better express yourself in future versions of Android. Yep, this is typically one of the most exciting parts around a software update, and there's a lot to check out here.
New Android 11 emoji
The beta build of Android 11 already includes 117 new emoji, which is already a huge amount of new images to send to your friends and group chats.
Here's the catch, though; while Android 11 does currently support these emoji, Gboard doesn't. You don't have a way to drop them into your conversations, although you can just copy them from the web and paste them wherever you'd like. Strange, but it takes time for all the cogs in the machine to catch up.
And by now you're probably familiar with the less-than-standard approach to emoji across the industry. Samsung has their own emoji, for instance, and some apps like WhatsApp have their own catalog that overrides your device's support, so not all phones and apps will see these at the same time. But if you want to test them out early, install the Android 11 beta and check out Emojipedia's post to start using some right away.
