I don't know who was asking for this, but Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition, or Galaxy S20 TE. This looks to be the descendent of the Galaxy Active phones, but cranked up to 11. It's… strange.
Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition
This doesn't look like a phone that you'll be able to stroll into Verizon and buy, but is instead aimed at federal employees in the Department of Defense for the US. It's a totally customized phone designed to work with existing peripherals that help operators navigate and communicate in critical environments, which is definitely not something that your average consumer needs.
It also introduces DualDAR architecture, which uses two layers of data encryption based on NSA standards to extremely sensitive information. It goes above and beyond in so many ways.

Despite all of the intense additions, it's otherwise a pretty familiar phone. You're getting a 6.2-inch 120hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865 CPU, 5G connectivity, Android 10 with One UI 2.0, and the huge array of cameras on Samsung's Galaxy S20 line.
It'll be available in Q3 of this year through “select IT channel partners.” I'm genuinely curious what this thing costs, so if anyone can find out, drop a comment and see how shocked we are.
