Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is one of the Android One devices that Xiaomi seems the most proud of. It packs in a dual-camera module and two-day battery life at a low cost, and it's running Google's trimmed down version of Android One for better performance.

Well, it finally got its update to Android 10, which isn't exactly timely, but it looks like it has some serious issues, too.

The update's not fully available for everyone, according to Xiaomi, but will instead be rolling out randomly to certain users. This soak test should help catch some issues, and that's definitely a good thing since many users are complaining about problems with the update already.

The comments on the post are somewhat positive, but a few users are complaining about their phone just not turning on after being updated. There's even a full thread over on XDA about a black screen of death after update, and users suggesting that others wait before applying the update.

The phone already has sort of a bad reputation for middling monthly updates, so a full update that bricks a bunch of phones really isn't a good look. Fortunately that XDA thread appears to have a fix for users with bricked phones, but obviously not everyone who gets the update will see that info.

So yes, Android 10 is cool, but if you're using a Mi A2 Lite, you probably need to give this another few days while Xiaomi fixes whatever problems it currently has.
