Sprint officially turns on their mobile 5G network in several cities 4

Sprint has officially entered the 5G market, turning on their new and upgraded network in a few places around the US. This is just the start of their 2019 plans to have 5G turned on in several new cities, and should be a big boost in coverage and speeds for anyone in one of those areas.

First up on the list, if you're in Atlanta, Dallas-Forth Worth, Houston, or Kansas City, you're good to go, so long as you buy a new 5G-compatible phone. The LG V50 is the only real option right now, but that will likely change throughout the year. The Galaxy S10 5G would make a good option, once its Verizon exclusivity period ends.

Besides those four markets, Sprint is also going to light up Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, and Washington, DC over the next few weeks. That will blanket over 11 million people with 5G coverage from Sprint's network.

Expect to see these kinds of announcements often this year.
