LG announced it's newest flagships at MWC 2019 in Barcelona, the V50 ThinQ 5G and the G8 ThinQ, a couple of smartphones that sport a strange mix of bland design and innovative hardware. As previously rumored, Sprint will be the first US carrier to sell the V50 ThinQ 5G, with availability coming later in 2019.
Sprint's 5G strategy is to use its 2.5GHz spectrum and Massive MIMO technology to bring 5G to these nine American cities in the first half of 2019: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York City, Pheonix, and Washington, D.C. While Spring have refrained from saying just how fast its 5G network will be, the carrier does state that users will be able to download full-length HD movies ‘in little to no time at all'.
If you were more interested in the G8 ThinQ that uses its OLED display to produce sound, have no fear because it is also coming to Sprint as part of the carrier's LTE-Advance line-up. Again, Sprint hasn't given a timeline on when it will begin offering the G8 ThinQ, but it will likely be in the next couple of months at the latest.
