It's hard to stand out in the current market of flagship phones and devices. Even Samsung has struggled a bit with that, which is why we're seeing disastrous folding phones, in-display fingerprint scanners, and revamped software UI to stay competitive.
Lenovo's latest idea is to cram a flagship phone into a (relatively) cheap package, then shove 100-megapixel cameras on it.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro, for all intents and purposes, looks like a pretty stellar device. You're getting a top shelf Snapdragon 855 CPU, up to 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, and a very large 4000mAh battery. But what really sets it apart is the camera array on the back, featuring a 48-megapixel main sensor paired up with an extra 16MP and 8MP set of sensors, and a 2MP depth sensor.
That's a ton of cameras, and it's capable of taking 100-megapixel shots. Yes, that's probably going to eat up space on the device's storage, and yes, you're going to get diminishing returns pretty quickly. If you're planning on taking some shots and blowing them way, way up I can imagine this phone being useful, but otherwise it's just flexing some numbers that won't really mean anything.
Seriously, there's almost no chance this thing manages to outdo a current Huawei or Pixel flagship phone in the camera department. Maybe Lenovo will prove me wrong, but as of now, the Z6 Pro is only launching in China for the rough equivalent of $430.
