As we edge closer to Samsung unveiling the Galaxy S10 in San Francisco on February 20th, a leaked image of what could be the Galaxy Sport/Active has smartwatch has appeared wherein it appears that the electronics giant has ditched an everpresent feature. It seems that the rotating bezel, a mainstay design element of previous Samsung smartwatches, is missing from the alleged successor to the Gear Sport smartwatch.
As you can see from the main image, the Galaxy Sport, which may also be known as the Galaxy Active or even the Galaxy Watch Sport, boasts a sleek, circular dial with a brushed metallic finish and no rotating bezel in sight. Considering how the bezel is used to navigate the Tizen operating system, it will be interesting to see how it is done on this new wearable. There are two buttons on the right-hand side of the dial. Under the hood, the wearable will apparently feature 4GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC for mobile payments. Bixby Reminders is also said to be present, for better or worse. You can also expect the watch to feature sleep monitoring, step counting, activity tracking, heart rate monitoring, GPS, and some level of water and dust resistance.
Codenamed Pulse, the Galaxy Sport carried the model number SM-R500 when it was recently certified by the FCC. It's entirely possible that Samsung could announce on February 20th at the same time as the Galaxy S10, although it might only launch during MWC 2019.
