Google dropped YouTube Rewind 2018 less than a week ago as a look back at the year in YouTube videos, and the internet really did not take it well. It look literally 6 days for the 8-minute video to become the most disliked video in YouTube history, beating out Justin Bieber's Baby music video, and with a significantly higher dislike-to-like ratio on top of that. Justin Bieber also needed almost a decade to get that many dislikes.
There are a lot of reasons for this massive amount of dislikes, and it's fair to say that YouTube's constant controversy with trying to balance a relationship with advertisers has alienated some of the community. There have also been social media and Reddit campaigns to pile on dislikes, too, and that's just how the internet goes.
