When it first launched in the 1990's, the Nokia 8110 phone was a thing of wonder with its spring-loaded slider design, and its popularity rose even further with Keanu Reeves using it in the blockbuster film, The Matrix. As it did with the 3310 in 2017, Nokia, by way of HMD Global, has resurrected the 8110 name, giving it a bold new yellow design as well as 4G capabilities. This new ‘reloaded' Banana phone 8110 4G goes on sale in the UK from August 15th, although it is already available to pre-order from selected retailers and carriers.

Make no mistake; the Nokia 8110 4G is not a competitor for the Galaxy Note 9, OnePlus 6, or even the Moto G6, instead, what it offers is a blast-from-the-past that leaves you with a smile on your face. The Banana Phone boasts the following specifications:
- Display: 2.4-Inch display with 240 x 320 resolution (167ppi)
- Processor: Snapdragon 205 dual-core processor, Adreno 304
- Memory: 512MB RAM
- Storage: 4GB Built-in storage (MicroSD card support up to 64GB)
- Camera: 2MP Rear camera with LED flash
- Battery: 1,500mAh
- Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, Micro USB, GPS
- Dimensions: 133.45 x 49.3 x 14.9mm
- Weight: 117g
With a screen-to-body ratio of 27.15%, you can probably tell that the Nokia 8110 4G isn't going head-to-head with any modern smartphone, and that's perfectly fine because it isn't meant to, it is a feature phone after all. It also includes Nokia's famous Snake game so you have hours of fun navigating a snake around the 2.4-inch display.
Besides being offered in black or the bright canary yellow, Nokia says that the 8110 4G will last 20 days on a single charge. Yes, you read that correctly. You'll also be able to hold an eight-hour phone call before needing to recharge the battery, and you can even use the phone as a 4G hotspot for your other devices.
Available to pre-order in black or yellow from Carphone Warehouse, EE, O2, Vodafone, and Amazon for £69, the Nokia 8110 4G Banana Phone is one of the best exponents of retro style we've seen in years.
