It might be an understatement to say that the Pixel phones are a big hit. In fact, Google's been so successful that they're facing a shortage, which is now pushing shipment dates back as far as mid-November.
Details after the break.
Google had set an expectation on how many phones they would sell during the pre-order stage, but demand has been much higher than that initial estimate. Here's the full statement from the company, obtained by 9to5Google:
“We’re thrilled to see the excitement for our new Pixel phones, and frankly pre-order demand has exceeded our expectations. We’re working to restock our inventory as soon as possible.”
Suffice to say, the Pixel and Pixel XL has been a roaring success so far. Some customers have actually taken to Project Fi to try and get either of the two devices early. But, 9to5Google's Abner Li tried to get this route, got told the device would ship out on a certain date, but that estimate turned out to be wrong. Talking to Project Fi's customer support, Li says he was told that the “shipping department is running 3 weeks behind.”

In other words, if you see that Google is estimating your Pixel will ship over the next few days, that might be a false estimate and you likely won't see it ship until November 18 or later. Others are saying that they ordered the day of the announcement and are seeing a November 25 estimate.
Google has actually stopped taking orders for phones that are listed as “out of stock” and are instead letting customers join a waitlist to be notified when more stock will be available.
At this time, an estimate hasn't been provided as to when Google will have more available, but hopefully it won't be too long so that the company can keep the momentum going.

Yeah… There the problem. I’ve been on the wait list since it was introduced and I still haven’t been able to order one. Its also been 8 days since they’ve actually been available. I’m giving it a couple more days, if not ordered by then I’ll just buy a different phone. The only reason I wanted this one was to try Project Fi.
