A report released by big advertisement guru AdMob shows that the Android OS share of the market is growing… and even surpassed Symbian OS for the #2 spot worldwide. In North America, the Android OS is holding strong at 33%, only sitting behind the Apple iOS, which held 54% of the market. Below the Android OS is RIM OS, which runs on Blackberry devices, at only 7%. With such a big market share, it clearly shows how much the Android Platform is on the rise.
Will the future reports be affected by the release of iOS 4 and the iPhone 4? Time will tell, but don’t count the Android out. With what I see coming in the future with new phones and development, I would not be surprised to see the gap between Android and iPhone decrease.
