Samsung Epic 4G preview

We already know most of the Epic’s specs as well as how Sprint thinks it’ll stack up to the competition. Well the folks over at engadget got their hands on one and here’s a brief rundown of what they thought
- Hardware - 4in LCD isn’t quite the 4.3in of the Droid X or HTC EVO, but it really isn’t that noticeable. The physical keyboard is fantastic and doesn’t add as much weight/girth to the phone as you’d expect. This will also be Sprint’s 2nd phone to feature a front facing camera.
- Screen - With the same Super AMOLED screen as the Galaxy S, it’s no surprise that this screen looks great as well.
- Software – Will ship with Android 2.1 and will get Android 2.2 not long after launch. It will feature Samsung’s TouchWiz skin and will come with Skype and Qik video chat pre-installed.
- Performance - Sporting the same 1GHz Hummingbird CPU as the Galaxy S, scrolling is very snappy and there was no noticeable lag opening apps like Amazon’s Kindle app or opening up the camcorder
