The Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup has been on sale for nearly a month, with the devices ticking almost all the boxes. Our review even crowned the biggest sibling – S24 Ultra – as “The King of Android.”
However, there have been minor concerns with the software, particularly in the display and camera departments. A software update with fixes to those issues was anticipated around the launch of the smartphones, which, surprisingly, didn't happen.
Recently, we reported that Samsung is working on a software update to address display issues, and the Korean tech giant has just confirmed these speculations. It has announced an update for the entire lineup, promising to address the feedback received from users.
A New Toggle to Tweak the Display’s Colors
Many users on Reddit and similar platforms complained about how the display colors appear washed out compared to Samsung's previous flagships. Some speculated this could be due to the new Gorilla Glass used in the phones.
However, Samsung states that it intentionally tuned the displays this way for a natural viewing experience. Since some users found the display colors too muted for their taste, the company has introduced a fix.
The update will bring a new setting to adjust the vividness of the screen, allowing users to customize the colors according to their preferences.
To do so, go to your phone's Settings > Display > Advanced settings. You'll find a slider under the Vividness option that you can adjust to your liking.

Enhancements for a Better Camera Experience
The camera department has also been taken care of with this update. Samsung hasn't talked about the improvements in detail. Rather, it has just listed the camera features that would see enhancements.
Samsung has stated that it is upgrading “the device’s zoom functions, Portrait Mode, Nightography, rear camera video shooting capabilities, and more.”
The phones' cameras are one of the best in the market right now, but they failed to meet what people expected from Samsung's flagship devices. This would make the overall camera experience of the entire Galaxy S24 lineup better.

Improvements in Galaxy Ai’s Language Translation
With the S24 series, Samsung introduced “Galaxy AI,” with several exciting AI features. One such feature is live translation, which works during phone calls or as a standalone app for real-world conversations.
The upcoming update will also bring improvements to this translation technology. However, Samsung has yet to provide details. It says “We will continue to evolve Galaxy technology — driving our vision forward and unleashing new possibilities for the future”.

When Will You Receive the Update?
The update will start rolling out to the S24, S24 Plus, and the S24 Ultra in February only. You should get it on your device soon, likely within a week or two. While you'll receive a notification when the update is available, you can also check manually. To do so, go to Settings > Software update.
Apart from the mentioned changes, the company's statement suggests no other enhancements to the S24 series. However, you can expect some bug fixes and the February 2024 security patch.
