If you’ve been craving animal ears and crowns for your Instagram selfies, the Facebook-owned company is here to save the day as their newest update brings face filters and more to the platform.
Join us after the break for the details.
In a not-so-subtle jab at Snapchat, Instagram’s face filters will work with both the front and rear cameras and allow you to post with the filters directly to your stories, direct messages, and even Boomerang videos. The app is starting out with a set of eight face filters, with everything from koala ears, to various crowns and math equations that animate around your head.
In addition to the face filters, the update also adds a new hashtag sticker that you can, well, stick directly on your story and will function the same as any hashtag, such as tapping for related posts. There will also be a new eraser brush that will overlay a solid color on your photo or video and allow you to brush away areas of the color to reveal what’s underneath.
One last feature included in the update is a new video function called “Rewind” that let you create videos that play in reverse, such as a dropped microphone flying back up to your hand. This will be found next to the “Boomerang” and “Hands-Free” cameras.
The update is rolling out today, but it may take a few days to get to your actual device. You can check for the update or grab the download at the link below.
