Amazon Echo with touchscreen leaks in extremely low-resolution

A new image was pulled off of Amazon’s internal servers that looks like their new Echo device with a built-in touchscreen. Unfortunately, the image appears to be a thumbnail, and the resolution is really, really low. No CSI enhance magic is going to work here.

With that being said, we can still learn a few things about it just from that image. It looks to have a roughly 7-inch touchscreen sitting above some fairly large speakers, which match some of the other rumors about the device. It’s codenamed “Knight” and Amazon wants to announce it by the end of the month, but it will almost definitely keep the Echo family name.

There’s also what appears to be a camera right above the screen, suggesting that you’ll be able to make video calls through the device and possibly even replicate some of the Echo Look’s functionality. We’ve heard about Amazon turning the Echo into a home phone-esque device, so that camera does make a lot of sense.

Otherwise, no other details, specs, or hardware to talk about. Not until Amazon makes it official, anyway. With that being said, I think this is arguably the most goofy looking device Amazon has in the pipeline, if the image ends up being accurate.
