While Garmin and Asus' relationship with each other is ending this January, it doesn't mean they still can be friends… friends with benefits. It looks like Garmin is finally ready to spread its wings and branch out to the world of smartphones as they plan to work on mobile navigation apps for Apple, RIM, and of course, Android devices.
Garmin may be a free bird now, but it still plans to work with Asus, granting exclusive rights to license Garmin navigation and location based services. This means, you'll probably be seeing new Android-based Asus phones that come pre-loaded with Garmin software and the Garmin trademark slapped on the back.
