Is Meghan Markle Preparing a TV Comeback?
Rumors of Meghan Markle returning to the screen have intensified. The Duchess of Sussex, who was best known for her role as Rachel Zane on the series Suits, has reportedly been in discussions about joining the third season of Guy Ritchie's Netflix show, The Gentlemen. No official agreement has been reached, but Netflix appears to be leaving all possibilities open.
The speculation was stoked when Manda Levin, head of scripted series at Netflix UK, was asked about the potential for Meghan to appear in a major Netflix production while speaking at the Edinburgh International Television Festival on August 26. Her reply kept things deliberately vague:
“Nothing is off the table,”
she said. This statement, combined with persistent rumors linking Meghan’s name to The Gentlemen in recent days, has only enhanced public interest.
The Gentlemen: Rumors Gain Credibility
According to coverage referenced by People, Meghan, now 45, has been in talks to join the third season of The Gentlemen. Netflix officially renewed the series for a third season on August 24, which lent credibility to the speculation. The Hollywood Reporter has noted that details about a potential character for Meghan remain undecided because the role is still being written. There’s no confirmation on how many episodes she would appear in, or if her casting will move forward at all.
However, talk of Meghan’s possible acting return predates The Gentlemen rumors. Sources suggest that Harry and Meghan have for some time considered her re-entering her previous career. As one friend of the couple told HELLO! magazine:
“There have been recent requests from the entertainment world and she is considering some offers, but nothing’s definite. For now, it’s just discussions.”
That’s a notable shift for someone who once appeared to have closed the door on acting.
From Suits to Royalty—And Possibly Back?
Before marrying into the British royal family, Markle earned fame and fan devotion for her role on Suits, filmed in Toronto, where she was living when she met Prince Harry in 2016. Approaching their 2018 wedding, she left the series and acting profession behind. In a 2022 interview with Variety, Markle stated she was “done” with acting.
Yet after six years living in California, Meghan, Harry, and their children have now returned to the UK. The move follows a summer 2026 meeting between Harry and his father, King Charles III, during Harry’s London stop to prepare for the Invictus Games 2027.
What’s Next for Meghan and Netflix?
Harry is expected to continue with his professional commitments from the UK, while Meghan is reportedly steering her business, As Ever, and considering offers from the entertainment industry. Their partnership with Netflix began in 2020 and, five years later, was renewed with a multi-year contract granting Netflix first priority on their film and television projects.
Whether this collaboration will lead Meghan back in front of the camera remains to be seen. So far, nothing has been signed. For now, the speculation continues—and as the Netflix executive said, “Nothing is off the table.”
