Motorola has been quietly pushing Android 17 to more of its phones, and four models got it in the US in early October. Lenovo, which owns Motorola, has confirmed more than 50 Razr, Edge and Moto G devices for the update, according to Android Authority. Here's who already has it, who's still waiting, and how to check your own phone.
In Short
- Motorola's list covers more than 50 phones across the Signature, Razr, Edge and Moto G families.
- In the US, the Razr Ultra (2026), Motorola Signature, Edge 60 Fusion and Edge 60 Pro started getting Android 17 in early October.
- Motorola hasn't published a full schedule, so the rest will arrive in waves.
Which Motorola Phones Already Have Android 17
The stable rollout started with the Motorola Edge 2025 back in August, as Android Central reported at the time. The Edge 70 devices got their turn a couple of weeks before October 7, according to Android Headlines.
Then, on October 7, four more phones joined in the US, according to Android Headlines, citing 9to5Google:
- Razr Ultra (2026)
- Motorola Signature
- Edge 60 Fusion
- Edge 60 Pro
Heads up if you own the Razr Ultra (2026): that download weighs in at 4.17GB and ships with the September 2026 security patch, so plug in and connect to Wi-Fi first.

What Android 17 Changes on Motorola Phones
Motorola's own changelog, summarized by Android Central, lists a handful of everyday upgrades. Stackable widgets let you swipe through several widgets in one spot on your home screen. Notification summaries condense long group chats into a single sentence, while lower-priority alerts get tucked into quieter folders. You also get themed icons, an option to hide Quick Settings labels, a cap on HDR brightness, and two new sharing tools, Tap to Share and Quick Drop.
How to Check for the Update
Open Settings, scroll to System updates and tap Check for updates. If Android 17 is ready for your phone, tap Download and install, as shown in AT&T's support guide for the Moto G (2026).

The Limit
Being on the list doesn't mean the update is coming this week. Motorola hasn't published a full rollout schedule, and availability varies by region, carrier and model, as TechRepublic points out. Gizmochina also notes the official list may be incomplete, since it leaves out the Edge 50 Neo and Edge 60 Neo.
