Wearables seem to be getting some real-world utility beyond sitting on your arm and monitoring metrics. They might soon be controlling your bedroom climate while you're unconscious.
A recent teaser video for Samsung's WindFree AC with Good Sleep Mode shows that the company is working on support for your Galaxy Watch, Fit 3, or Galaxy Ring feeding sleep data to your air conditioner in real time.
No need to adjust your thermostat anymore
Samsung has introduced a feature called WindFree Wearable Good Sleep for its 2026 Bespoke AI WindFree air conditioners. They announced it earlier in 2025, and it's just about that time that they're now rolling it out.

It links your Galaxy Watch or Ring to any of the ACs manufactured in 2024 or later. When your wearable detects that you've fallen asleep, it automatically signals the unit to switch on WindFree Cooling and adjust the temperature to match your sleep patterns throughout the night.
Samsung teased the feature in a 34-second YouTube clip featuring a sloth tucked in bed and wearing a sleep mask. The video shows a temperature graph with the Fall asleep, WindFree sleep, and Wake up modes. It's how the AC adjusts temperature till morning.
To set it up, you need the SmartThings app on your wearable and your AC connected to home Wi-Fi. You would then need to configure it through either the Samsung Watch app under Sleep well with smart devices or via Settings > Mode and routine > Sleep. You also need to wear the watch or ring while in bed. Your smartphone must be running One UI 4 or later.
What does it mean to be WindFree with Samsung?
Bespoke AI is Samsung's line of smart home appliances that use artificial intelligence to automate and personalize everyday tasks. Across different appliances, it detects floor type and automatically adjusts suction power to clean efficiently, control wash cycles with voice through the Bixby assistant, or wakes your fridge's screen as you approach with personalized information.
The Wearable Good Sleep feature is part of the Bespoke AI WindFree lineup, which comes in four form factors. They include Wall Mounted, 1Way Cassette, 4Way Cassette, and 360 Cassette.

All of them share the core WindFree technology, which is to disperse air through 23,000 micro air holes and create a “still air” environment. The room should feel cool without you feeling a cold draft on your skin. The main difference is in the positioning on your wall or ceiling and how the air spreads around the room.
Wall Mounted is the most common type in homes, while the Cassette types go inside the ceiling. You'll only see a flat panel looking up. 1Way blows air one way and 4Way blows air in four directions. 360 blows air in a full circle all around it.
Samsung claims that WindFree mode uses 77% less energy than Fast Cooling mode, and cools 43% faster corner to corner compared to conventional models. The Acs are available on Amazon and the official brand website.
